Ron Black
|
|
Ron is an amazing vocal
instructor and an accomplished chorus director with two top ten placements in
International competition. He is a two time district quartet champion, a certified
judge in the Music category, a former judge in the Singing category, a past
Chairman of the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Contest & Judging Committee, a very
highly regarded quartet and chorus coach and a long time faculty member of the
Society’s Harmony College and Directors College. Ron has a degree in music and
has been a barbershopper since 1976. He and his wife, Jo, moved here from
California in mid-2003. The Heart Of Texas Chorus is priviledged to have Ron
as our director, heading up our chapter directing team.

Brent Dunavant

In addition to his duties as the Associate Director for the
Heart Of Texas Chorus, Brent is the Music Director of the San Antonio Chordsmen
and advisor for the Sugar & Spice ladies group at Texas State University. Brent
started singing barbershop with the Brazos Barbershoppers of College Station
eight years ago. He then moved to San Angelo and sang with the Twin Mountain
Tonesmen where he was the Program VP. Brent then moved to San Marcos to
complete the Texas State University curriculum in Music Education. He has become a very
important member of the Directing Team for the Heart Of Texas Chorus.
